Meet our travel representative upon arrival in Cochin. Transfer to the hotel and check in.
After freshening up, proceed for half day Cochin city tour. Visit Jewish Synagogue built in 1568, hand painted willow patterned floor tiles from China and ancient scripts on copper plates.
Next, visit the St. Francis Church - built in 1503 by Portuguese. This is the first European church built in India.
Later, proceed to do a little sightseeing tour by boat - visit the Dutch Palace - The Mattancherry Palace is a Portuguese palace popularly known as the Dutch Palace, in Mattancherry, Kochi, in the Indian state of Kerala which features Kerala murals depicting portraits and exhibits of the Rajas of Kochi. Also the Fort Cochin - A charming seaside area, Fort Kochi is known for its Dutch, Portuguese, and British colonial architecture, and elaborate bamboo fishing nets at Fort Kochi Beach. And also the famous Chinese Fishing nets - They are a type of stationary lift net in India. They are fishing nets that are fixed land installations for fishing. While commonly known as "Chinese fishing nets" in India, the more formal name for such nets is "shore operated lift nets".
In the evening, spend time watching the beautiful sunset at Marine Drive.
Overnight in Cochin.
After breakfast, check out and depart for Munnar.
Arrive in Munnar and check in to hotel. After freshening up, proceed for half day city tour of Munnar. Visit Pothamedu view point at the top of the Pothamedu Mountain which gives you a panoramic view of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in the valley. The mighty green mountains, hills, cool climate and the scenic beauty make it sought after place for trekking, hiking and long mountain walks.
Also visit Devikulam is a small hill station about 5 kilometres from Munnar in the Theni District of the southern state of Kerala, an idyllic hill station with its velvet lawns, exotic flora and fauna
Pallivasal is a village in Idukki district in the Indian state of Kerala. The first Hydro-electric project in Kerala was established at Pallivasal during the reign of Maharajah Sree Chithira Thirunal Balarama Varma.
Overnight in Munnar.
After breakfast, depart for sightseeing of Munnar. Visit Mattupetty, well known for its highly specialized dairy farm. There are over 100 varieties of high yielding cattle at the specialized dairy farm at Mattupetty.
About 15 km from Munnar lies the famous Echo Point. Popular for its natural echo phenomenon, one can always see the area full of eager visitors throughout the year. At an altitude of about 600 ft, people love taking a walk in the lush greenery surrounding the place. It is an ideal picnic spot.
Also visit Rajamalai Hill Station - Rajamala is among the finest Hill Stations in Idukki, located around 15 km from Munnar. You're surrounded by what seems like a lush green carpet on all sides. Rare flora and fauna abound along with some of the finest trekking trails in the area. These take you to some of the most wonderful vantage points in the district where the entire valley seems to open up on command.
Also the Tea Plantations - A trip to Munnar will be incomplete without having a visit to the tea plantations. Munnar is a spot known for its lovely tea estates and tea cultivation. Nobody will return home without tasting or shopping the essence of Munnar..
Later, proceed to vist Eravikulam National Park, a 97 sq.km park, the Natural Habitat to the endangered species Nilgiri Thar.
Overnight in Munnar.
After breakfast, check out of hotel and proceed to Thekkady.
Arrive in Thekkady and check in to hotel. After freshening up, visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary - Periyar National Park, also known as Periyar Tiger Reserve, is in the mountainous Western Ghats of Kerala, southern India. This wildlife sanctuary is home to tigers and a significant elephant population, as well as rare lion-tailed macaques, sambar deer, leopards and Indian bison.
In the evening, enjoy game viewing by motorized boat at Periyar Lake.
Lastly, enjoy a little shopping at the Spice Market.
Overnight in Thekkady.
After breakfast, check out of hotel and proceed to Kumarakom (133 kms, approx. 3.5 Hours).
Arrive in Kumarakom and enjoy the boating at back water cruise at Vembanad Lake - Vembanad is the longest lake in India, and the largest lake in the state of Kerala.
Visit Pathiramanal - Pathiramanal is a small wonderful island on the backwaters in Muhamma panchayat of Alappuzha district. The name Pathiramanal means 'sands of night'. The scenic beauty of both sides of the lake as well as that of the island is amazing. It is home to many rare varieties of migratory birds from different parts of the world.
Also Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is situated at Kumarakom in Kottayam district in the Indian state of Kerala, on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Set in the Kerala Backwaters, the bird sanctuary is a favourite haunt of migratory birds.
Later proceed to Alleppy (33 kms, approx. 1 Hour). Arrive in Alleppy and check in to hotel.
Overnight in Alleppy.
After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Cochin for the Cochin international airport.
If time permits, visit Elephant Training Center at Kodanad - The Kodanad Elephant Training Centre, is one of the largest elephant training centres in Kerala. It is flanked by the high ranges and is set near the southern banks of the Periyar River. Since the ban on capturing elephants was enforced, this place now serves as one of the premier elephant training centres in Kerala. It is surely every elephant lover’s paradise to view these magnificent beings up close.
Drop off at the airport for your final destination.
